My name is Ann Craig and I live in the small community of Aumsville, OR. It is about 10 miles east of Salem headed towards Bend.
It seems like I have always had horses, having big ones until I left Colorado and came to OR in 1972. I graduated college in 1976 and then did an additional 2 years earning my RN. I have worked at Salem Hospital for 24 years, with most of my background in outpatient and inpatient recovery rooms. And yes, people do say some STRANGE things when waking up from anesthesia
I am married to my best friend and spouse for 30 years this past June. We have 3 children-Jason is 23 and finishing up school at Oregon State University. Danae is 19 and in her second year of pre-nursing at Western Oregon State in Monmouth and will be joining the Army Reserve in July of 2008. Our youngest is 16 and a Junior in High school and starting to make plans for his college experience.
I bought my first miniature from a breeder in Oregon in 2000. I saw them at the Marion County fair in Salem and I was hooked. My daughter and I have shown in breed shows and she has shown in 4-H and high school equestrain team. I discovered CDE rather by accident in looking online and talking with Ron and Dorthy Whiteman at breed shows. It was a couple of years before I was brave enough to give it a try. My only regret is that I did not start sooner, but will be forever grateful for all those who have made it possible for CDE to be THE horse sport in the NW.
