Sporting Day of Traditional Driving
| Organizer: Pam Connolly, email: heronlandingfarm@gmail.com
Please join us for this fun & fancy weekend of carriage driving. This Carriage Association of America event is designed to promote the beautiful art of traditional carriage driving, but the CAA has given me permission to add a class to suit our Northwest combined driving enthusiasts. Participants can choose to enter either as a traditional turnout, with restored or reproduction antique vehicles and leather harness, or as a "contemporary sporting" turnout, with marathon/CDE vehicles and synthetic harness. The Sporting Day includes a turnout inspection, long Country Drive with trail-like obstacles, and a Cones Course. It is all set at a pleasure pace, and is not a speed event.
This weekend includes a campout and a recreational drive on Sunday. Please note that I may be able to hold this event at the Carnation Farm, so I may be able to make the recreational drive a longer "distance drive". Planning for Sunday is still underway, but it will be something particularly fun! Cost is $85 per turnout, $5 parking fee for all additional vehicles.
For more information about this event, please visit my website at www.heronlandingfarm.webs.com, as well as the CAA website at www.caaonline.com. The CAA website has more particulars about the Sporting Day as well.
Entry forms are now available - please email for one!
